Gravel driveways built on a real base.

New driveways, rebuilds, extensions and fresh stone for country homes and new land around Cincinnati. A driveway that holds up to trucks, rain and every spring thaw.

Sound familiar?

  • Ruts and mud every spring.
  • The stone keeps disappearing into the dirt.
  • We bought land and need a way in.
  • Puddles sit in the middle of the drive for days.

What we do

New driveways

Raw ground to finished stone, built up in compacted layers and crowned to shed water.

Rebuilds

For drives that rut and pump mud. We dig out the bad section and build it back right.

Extensions and turnarounds

Out to the barn, a new pad or a spot to turn a trailer around, built to match.

Resurfacing

Fresh stone, regraded and recrowned, when the base is solid and the top is worn.

How we build it. Built on fabric and a compacted stone base so it doesn't rut, then crowned so the water runs off.

Question 1 of 4

What does the driveway need?

What does a gravel driveway cost?

A new 150 ft by 12 ft driveway is typically about $9,650. Fresh stone on a solid 300 ft driveway is about $4,150. The estimator on this page prices yours.

Why fabric under the stone?

Fabric keeps the base stone from sinking into the clay, which is the main reason gravel driveways rut. It costs a little more up front and saves you a rebuild later.

Rebuild or resurface?

If the driveway ruts, pumps mud or has soft spots, the base needs rebuilding. If it is firm and just looks thin, fresh stone on top does the job. We tell you which one you need at the site visit.

Do I need a permit?

A new entrance onto a county or township road usually needs one, and so does a culvert in the road ditch. We handle the paperwork and pass the fee through at cost.

Can you clear the land first?

Yes. Our Brushworks crew clears brush and trees with forestry mulchers, then we build. Same owners, same crew, one call.
